Modern Matière Pre-Cast Concrete Arch Bridge with Heritage Style

Faced with a failing jack-arch bridge over the Birmingham Canal in Smethwick, Sandwell Borough Council and their engineering consultants Jacobs UK Ltd. have opted for a radical solution. A Matière pre-cast concrete arch from ABM Bridge Systems has been installed alongside a century old brick arch structure and an earlier Brindley designed bridge of 1772. The new bridge spans the canal and towpath and is sympathetic in profile and external finish to the earlier structures. (PRWeb Dec 21, 2007)

World's First Matière 14.5 Metre Soil-Stabilised Precast Concrete Railway Twin Track Box Bridge

Precast concrete specialist ABM Design and Build, the UK and Ireland licensee for the Matière modular bridge system, has developed the world's first 14.5 metre span Matière box bridge. The pioneering Opti-Cadre design maximises available headroom. Able to span twin rail tracks, it is the ideal box bridge for rail projects where clearance safety margins are critical. The speed of erection of the Opti-Carde structure also greatly reduces the possession time required. (PRWeb Sep 4, 2007)
