     <title>ONCNOSIS-Pharma a New Spanish Company Starts a Multiplatform Project to Discover Oncologic Biomarkers and Targets</title>
     <link>http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/03/prweb363519.htm</link><description>   <![CDATA[ <P>ONCNOSIS-PHARMA AIE, a  new born Spanish joint venture company has been awarded with one of the first sixteen CENIT grants by the Spanish Government. ONCNOSIS aims to discover novel molecular tools, therapeutic compounds and developing new technological approaches for disease diagnosis, prognosis and treatment in four selected cancers. ONCNOSIS consortium has been coordinated by ORYZON GENOMICS (www.oryzon.com) and GRUPO FERRER INTERNACIONAL (www.ferrergrupo.com) and consists of nine companies which participate in the joint venture and one large multinational, SIEMENS, which will act in concert with the joint venture but without direct membership.  Associated with ONCNOSIS are 20 publicly -funded centres of research excellence throughout Spain The total budget for the four years project is set to almost 30 Million Euros. The agreement, the economical terms of which have not been revealed, will give access to BASF to the gene function discovery platform and particularly to custom DNA chips and related bioinformatics solutions developed by Oryzon in order to improve its advanced phytosanitary products for several kinds of crops.
