HHR Concerned About Anti-Hindu Crusade by Rightwing Christians over Yoga Ban

Hindu Human Rights is concerned by what they believe to be a growing intolerance of the right wing Christian elements in the West which has been increasingly targeting Hindus and Hinduism in recent years. Christian TV channels, radio shows, books, websites, pamphlets and radical preachers often demonising and spewing an ideology of hatred against Hinduism, have created an atmosphere which has led to a rise in hate-crimes against Hindus and Hindu institutions, says HHR. Western governments need to take these issues more seriously, especially considering the fact that many right wing individuals and fundamentalist groups have sympathisers in the political arena.
Announcement of a Protest to the Indian Government

The horrific terror attacks on 11 July in Mumbai have caused outrage across the world but following similar attacks in London, Madrid and New York it comes as no huge surprise. That these attacks seem to have received less attention in the West is another story, but Indian citizens have become used to the world ignoring terror attacks in India. More worryingly however is the general attitude of the Indian government to terror attacks on its own citizens and Hindu religious sites. Already this year there have been numerous attacks on civilians and especially children in India. (PRWeb Jul 22, 2006)

HHR Press Release: Is The Royal Mail Stamping out Hinduism?

We at Hindu Human Rights would like to express our growing concern at the reaction of the Royal Mail to protests by Hindu groups here in the UK. For those that are not aware of the situation, the Royal Mail has issued Christmas stamps depicting an offensive painting of Hindus worshipping Jesus. So far the Royal Mail has shown a dismissive and apathetic attitude towards the concerns expressed by the Hindu community and it is for this reason that we have chosen to voice our opinion on this matter.

The Hindu Human Rights Group condemns the attack on innocent members of the public by suspected terrorists on Thursday 7 July 2005. While such an attack was expected by many, it still comes as a big shock to everyone and we commend the prompt response of the emergency services as well as the other volunteers who worked tirelessly to rescue the injured. Our thoughts and prayers go to the victims and their friends and families in what must be a very distressing time. (PRWeb Jul 16, 2005)

Life Ain’t All Ha Ha Hee Hee for Hindus

Hindu Human Rights have recently been flooded with verbal, written and electronic complaints about the portrayal of Hindus, and Hindu women in particular, in the British and Western media. While complaints are quite common, what makes the current sense of outrage peculiar is that the vast majority of complaints we have received are from Hindu women born and brought up in the West. We asked our researchers to compile a top ten. (PRWeb May 27, 2005)
