     <title>59% of Americans Plan to Spend Their Tax Refunds on Everyday Purchases or Make Bill Payments, According to the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index</title>

Of those surveyed, 31%, up from 27% in 2004, plan to save their refunds in a bank account or invest the money in stocks, bonds or mutual funds.      <title>45% of Americans Are Making Minimum or No Payments on Their Credit Card Balances, According to the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index</title>

     <title>83% of Americans With Medical Debt Say Debts Are Enough of a Burden to Prevent Them from Making Major Purchases, According to the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index</title>
     <link>http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/02/prweb205717.htm</link><description>   <![CDATA[ <P>83% of Americans say that debts they have incurred because of medical or dental procedures are burdensome enough to prevent them from buying large ticket items, according to the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index. 27% considered their medical debt a major burden, down from 29% who thought so in 2004. 56% now consider their medical debts a minor burden, up from 54% a year ago. 17% of the respondents said their medical debts did not impose any burden, unchanged from 2004. 19% of Americans have accumulated debt associated with medical or dental procedures, up from 16% in 2004.  Of the respondents who have outstanding medical debts, 78% have healthcare or Medicare coverage (up from 76% a year ago), 53% have dental insurance (up from 49%), while 17% have no medical or dental insurance coverage (unchanged from a year ago).
