Act 1 Entertainment, a Long Island Promoter in Conjunction With Tailgator's Sports Bar & BigDaddy's Sizzlin Jam Puts on a Show to Benefit The Lighthouse Mission, 54 Railroad Ave. Patchogue, NY 11772

The Lighthouse and the heart of the Mission.....In January of ‘92 their street ministry began by handing out ten bologna and cheese sandwiches to the hungry. It began with a vision from God to go feed the poor. Today they are feeding over 1000 people a week, giving out about 350,000 meals to people who have a need. Poverty on Long Island is on the rise due to the increase of the high cost of living (housing, rent, heat, food, etc). Statistics show that approximately 40,000 children on Long Island are living below the poverty line and 100,000 children in Suffolk County alone depend on food pantries. This number increases daily. The heart of the people at the Mission is to reach out to others and see that no child will go to bed hungry. Working TOGETHER can make a difference in someone's life that is crying out for help. www.lighthousemission.net (PRWeb Feb 7, 2006)
