Hoodia Research Reveals Steroids That Are Potentially Unsafe; Healthier Lifestyle Choices May Be Less Sweet Drinks & Deserts, Having A Salad And Cutting Fat With Q-Slim

ZORBA research has revealed that Hoodia products contain steroids. So, what are risks and benefits of Hoodia dietary supplements? Do healthier diet and supplement alternatives exist? Hoodia supplements frequently include two main ingredients (1) extracts or powders of Hoodia containing a pregnane glycoside plant steroid of questionable safety (pregnane glycoside steroid(s) may interfere with body hormones to decrease thirst and appetite, see U.S. Patent 6,376,657) and (2) one or more water sponges such as glucomannen or Konjac flour (expand with water for possible fullness feeling, but may deplete body of essential water soluble vitamins, minerals, and nutrients). See discussion below of benefits and risks of Hoodia, and possible healthier diet and supplement alternatives to Hoodia steroids. (PRWeb Dec 21, 2005)

ZORBA Weight Loss Supplement (Q-Slim) Leads To A Promising New, Second Generation, Anti-Cholesterol Drug Candidate To Lower Cholesterol And Raise HDL (Good Cholesterol)

Early preliminary results for the ZPRO Pharmaceutical, Inc. weight-loss supplement fiber Q-Slim (non-exclusive sale license recently granted to ZORBA Nutraceuticals, Inc., see November 30, 2005 press release, http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/11/prweb315974.htm) has led to a second generation, very promising, new prescription drug candidate. This candidate will now undergo further testing and seek FDA approval as a drug for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels, while raising good cholesterol (HDL) levels. Supplemental data from weight loss studies comparing Q-Slim to CortiSlim and placebo control groups, surprising showed that participants taking the Q-Slim supplement had lower cholesterol and lower triglycerides levels, while raising their HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) levels. This confirmed that a second generation, more powerful composition known as Compound Z is also likely to perform well as an anti-cholesterol FDA drug candidate. A 90 day human study (double blind, where neither study providers nor study participants know what they are taking) with Q-Slim is expected to conclude during late December 2005.
Preliminary Human Study Results For ZPRO Q-Slim Supplement May Rival Results Of Sanofi Drug Candidate Acomplia (Rimonabant) Without Reported Side Effects For Acomplia

Early preliminary results from ZPRO Pharmaceutical, Inc. for a new, inexpensive, non-prescription weight-loss supplement fiber Q-Slim (non-exclusive sale license recently granted to ZORBA Nutraceuticals, Inc., see November 30, 2005 press release, http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/11/prweb315974.htm) provides extraordinary and wonderful promise for this powerful new fat sponge formulation. In addition to significant weight loss as compared to CortiSlim and placebo control groups, participants taking the Q-Slim supplement had lower cholesterol and lower triglycerides levels, while raising their HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) levels. In a 90 day human study (double blind, where neither study providers nor study participants know what they are taking) Q-Slim (a ZPRO weight loss fiber supplement formulated from natural fibers and nutrients) was compared to both the popular weight loss supplement CortiSlim and an ordinary vegetable fiber placebo. The study is expected to conclude during late December 2005. (PRWeb Dec 11, 2005)

ZORBA Nutraceuticals, Inc. (ZORBA) is pleased to announce that it has licensed Q-Slim (a ZPRO weight loss fiber supplement formulated from natural fibers and nutrients) from ZPRO Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ZPRO) for direct mail and internet sales. The licensed ZPRO fiber is a powerful, new and innovative (“first of its kind”) all-natural component technology fat sponge. This technology is expected to provide non-digested fat absorbing fibers that are 5 to 10 times more effective in removing dietary fat from the digestive system than ordinary fat sponges.
