Multiple Layers Of Security Will Help Prevent Exploit Of New Flaw, Says Security Methods Inc.

Security Methods Inc., a leading information security provider based in Virginia’s Dulles technology corridor, is urging Microsoft Word and Excel users to shore-up security to ensure that they are not affected by recently discovered encryption flaws. Under section 404 of the Act, companies with revenue under $75 million must comply with provisions that call for the establishment of internal financial controls, including information security, by July 15, 2005.But unlike their larger counterparts, smaller firms are having trouble absorbing the costs of compliance, according to analysts and industry observers.
