     <title>Over 1,000 Police Officers Killed by Terrorists</title>
     <link>http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/07/prweb265740.htm</link><description>   <![CDATA[ <P>While the United States has not experienced a major terrorist attack since September 11, 2001, there have been continual terrorist attacks around the globe.  According to Lieutenant Raymond E. Foster, LAPD (ret.), an analysis of data recently released by National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) revealed that 1,080 police officers were killed world-wide during 2004.  "Earlier this year, the NCTC expanded their definition of terrorism and released a new set of data concerning world-wide attacks," Foster said.  The expanded definition increased the number of all terrorist attacks from 651 to 3,192.  Foster continued that the "NCTC primarily relies on press reports and other Open Source Intelligence to compile the information." (PRWeb Jul 27, 2005)</P>
