According to Lieutenant Raymond E. Foster, LAPD (ret.), an analysis of data recently released by National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) revealed that 1,080 police officers were killed world-wide during 2004. "Earlier this year, the NCTC expanded their definition of terrorism and released a new set of data concerning world-wide attacks," Foster said. The expanded definition increased the number of all terrorist attacks from 651 to 3,192.
