Seven Flight Crew Members Died Needlessly 14 October, 2004 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Transport Canada's Safety Board final accident report released last week on MK Airlines Limited Boeing 742SF crash at Halifax International airport, 14 October 2004 sparked outrage and serious concern from independent researcher, inventor and avaition consultant Captain Geoff Ogilvie. Operated as a non-scheduled international cargo flight from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Zaragoza, Spain the aircraft crashed after attempting to take off from Runway 24. The aircraft overshot the end of the runway for a distance of 825 feet, became airborne for 325 feet, then struck an earthen berm. The aircraft's tail section broke away from the fuselage, and the aircraft remained in the air for another 1200 feet before it struck terrain and burst into flames. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and a severe post-crash fire. “All seven crew members suffered fatal injuries needlessly,” said Captain Geoff Ogilvie retired airline pilot, independent researcher and inventor of Avibridge www.avibridge.com ). "And I am hopping mad about it!" (PRWeb Jul 10, 2006)

Airport Owners in the Pilot’s Hot Seat?

Under Negligence Law commonly known as "Duty Of Care", airport owners may increasingly find themselves involved as parties to legal action taken against them following a crash on their airport. Errors in loading procedures, equipment or policies are one area that airport owners need to be interested in. Another area is published airport data, such as runway slope and elevation.
Historic Leyland P76 Racing Team to Disband

The historic Leyland P76 Targa Florio Team disbanded recently due to lack of sponsorship and the owner's move to Bangkok, Thailand. The team campaigned the classic racer for over ten years (1993-2004) on both sides of the Tasman. 5 Targa New Zealand events, Two Targa Tasmania events and Rally Tasmania were among the events entered in by the team. No other Leyland P76 team has competed in more National and Trans Tasman events than the Targa Florio Team. The amateur racing team can look back on an exciting decade of Leyland P76 racing that has shown the car to be as competitive as any of that era (1970s). (PRWeb Jun 2, 2005)

Small Planes More at Risk to Crash?

Conventional thinking that small RPT aircraft are more at risk from loading errors is challenged by private researcher and inventor, Captain Geoff Ogilvie. Not enough research or study has been done by government and I believe the risk to large aircraft from loading errors is greater than realized by many in the industry. There is a solution however within reach. It is a patent pending system called Avibridge. (PRWeb May 30, 2005)

Aircraft Loading Errors Kill

Aircraft loading systems rely on an 85 year old paper based system called the manifest weight & balance system or load sheet. More modern systems have been rejected by airlines as being inaccurate. Government has not shown leadership by making these systems madatory. Inventor Geoff Ogilvie, a retired airline captain has come up with a system that he believes is better than both the present system and the onboard system rejected by the airlines. His system, named avibridge measures aircraftb weight & balance externally by means of a patent pending aircraft weighbridge. Opposition to his project was made plain by large aviation interests in Australia when he went in search of development funding. (PRWeb Apr 28, 2005)
