New Report Suggests Judicial Reform is a Stimulus America Needs

May 7, 2009 is the official release date for the much anticipated Report with Recommendations of the Citizens' Forum On Judicial Accountability (CFOJA) that took place May 15, 2008 on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. While the CFOJA report makes clear that the forum's presiding panel heard compelling arguments for both maintaining and reforming America's judicial oversight methodology, those panelists who helped draft the report seem most persuaded by the contention that restoring the Rule of Law when breached is an obligation of and should directly involve all Americans. According to Zena Crenshaw, executive director of National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc., a CFOJA co-sponsor, "anyone calling for more government regulation or chastising its past failures during this time of economic crisis should consider that some of America's best regulators are private litigants, cut out of oversight processes by the rulings of judges who themselves may be part of the problem." (PRWeb May 7, 2009)

Anti-Corruption Advocates Announce Their "Obama Lights The Way" Campaign And Candlelight Vigils For Justice

POPULAR is the acronym for Power Over Poverty Under Laws of America Restored. It is also an association of public interest attorneys and Juris Doctors, advised by a board of nonlawyer community leaders. Writing on behalf of "poor and otherwise disenfranchised U.S. citizens", POPULAR urged President-Elect Obama, through his virtual office at Change.Gov, to foster a Justice Department that fervently prosecutes criminal violations of civil and constitutional rights. According to POPULAR Advisory Board Vice-President Nancy Swan, the online communication started what the group calls its "Obama Lights The Way" campaign. "Our campaign is to include candlelight vigils for justice; periodic, post-inauguration requests that the Justice Department investigate certain violations of civil, constitutional, and/or human rights; and corresponding evaluations of the Justice Department's user-friendliness," explains Swan.
Corruption Threatens America's Medical And Legal Systems Says An Expanding Coalition Of Anti-Corruption Advocates

The prestigious National Press Club in Washington, DC provided the backdrop as a "growing coalition (of anti-corruption advocates attested) to serious abuses of government and corporate power" says Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Matthew Fogg (INA). He urged the Obama Justice Department to fervently prosecute criminal violations of civil and constitutional rights "so American whistleblowers can effectively help protect our country from entrenched corruption which destroys institutions." Medical doctors representing the International Association of Whistleblowers and Semmelweis Doctors' Society forecasted a possible medical system breakdown if conscientious doctors are not extended federal whistleblower protection and fairer consideration by American courts. Juris Doctor Christina Pak capitalized on their points to underscore the need for national judicial whistleblower protection and her organization's international campaign for that relief.
Grassroots Advocates Urge President-Elect Obama To Fight Root Causes Of Corruption

"Oddly enough, a Democrat will occupy the White House and Democrats will control Congress at a time in America's history when the financial difficulties of wealthy people arguably impact social policy more than the underlying need to protect human rights," says Andrew D. Jackson, a Juris Doctor with a Masters in History and Deputy Director of POPULAR, Inc. The nonprofit corporation is an acronym for "Power Over Poverty Under Laws of America Restored" and joined by various anti-corruption advocates, will debut with a press conference and live webcast at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Thursday - November 20, 2008. According to Juris Doctor Christina Pak, vice-president of POPULAR's board of directors, "America certainly faces many complex, troublesome issues competing for solutions; but some are merely symptoms of more fundamental problems." Newspaper founder and medical whistleblower, Dr. Lokesh B. Vuyyuru, expounds, "if average Americans cannot help their country distinguish symptoms from root causes of systemic, systematic misconduct, it cannot be very serious about fighting corruption." (PRWeb Nov 18, 2008)

U. S. Supreme Court Starts a Brush-fire of Grassroots Activism through a National Speak-Up Campaign

The High Court’s recent failure to condemn the punishment of responsible speech in the landmark case of Garcetti et al., v. Ceballos, intensified the sting of "concerns . . . about the legislative branch setting up a so-called guardian for the judicial branch," reportedly expressed by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and prompted grassroots activists to massively lobby for that and related action by Congress.
Are Prescription Drug Manufacturers Safer In Indiana Than Children?

Indiana is the main forum for multiple federal court decisions, derailing consideration of whether certain judges improperly aligned with a multi-billion dollar, prescription drug manufacturer to supposedly conceal an alleged link between one of its products and the adverse prescription drug reaction of a child and possibly other children. Pending before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit is Crenshaw v. Antokol et al. which chronicles that litigation and what Zena Crenshaw considers her related efforts to expose potential risks of a synthetic, antibacterial combination for children suffering initial, uncomplicated episodes of urinary tract infection.
More American Institutions Should Help Fortify Government Whistleblowers

Zena D. Crenshaw, Executive Director of The American Whistleblowers’ League (AWL) says “. . . we should not simply empower and then rely on administrative agencies and courts to redress the tremendous toll that conscientious, government whistleblowers can endure”. She explains, “the proposed whistleblower legislation before Congress contemplates relief that would be light at the end of a tunnel all federal whistleblowers should be equipped to travel in very practical ways”. It is reportedly “ . . . time for American institutions of social justice to embrace and nurture their de facto agents being government whistleblowers who act in good conscience”. He brings to the group his encyclopedic knowledge of federal whistleblower legislation which he has advanced before Congress, quasi-judicial agencies, various courts, and the media for nearly three decades.
National Judicial Watchdog Organization to Investigate Allegations of Judicial Collusion and Cronyism by Retired Pima County Superior Court Judge and his Ex-Law Partner

National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc. (NJCDLP) will investigate accusations made in a private civil rights action before a Federal Court of Tucson, Arizona involving former Pima County Superior Court judge, the late Joseph R. McDonald, and reportedly his ex-law partner, Tucson divorce attorney Leonard Karp. Plaintiffs in the case include D.C. attorney Robert S. Catz who based on personal knowledge and professional experience in cases of state court judicial collusion and cronyism, describes how McDonald and Karp may have gamed the Domestic Relations Division of the Pima County Superior Court for more than a decade. The Tucson Federal Court has been asked to create a class-wide trust fund requiring Leonard Karp and his co-counsel attorney Annette Everlove to repay with interest all attorneys fees, expenses and costs awarded to them by Judge McDonald from 1989 to 1999. Amounts involved could exceed two million dollars. After NJCDLP investigates the matter, a public report of its findings will be issued. (PRWeb Nov 2, 2005)

Columbus Day 2005 Marks the Recent Discovery of a Reliable National Media Outlet for Government Whistleblowers

Columbus Day 2005 marks the recent discovery by government whistleblowers of a sure voice through “Diogenes”, the quarterly magazine of National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc. (NJCDLP). As a Greek philosopher known for his “uncompromising zeal for exposing vice and conceit and stirring men to reform”, Diogenes is a most appropriate namesake for the featured magazine of NJCDLP. It debuted at a summit hosted by the nonprofit, legal reform organization and WHEAG, Whistleblowers for an Honest, Efficient, and Accountable Government, at the historic Watergate Hotel in Washington, D. C. on September 23, 2005. Plans are underway to develop “Diogenes” into more of an advocacy tool for classic government whistleblowers as well as legal/judicial reform activists.
Unprecedented Alliance Between Government WhistleBlowers and Legal Reform Activists to Forge at the Historical Watergate Hotel

The problems of government whistleblowers may or may not directly involve legal process, but they hasten to Congress as courts seemingly disregard their concerns. WHEAG, Whistleblowers for an Honest, Efficient, and Accountable Government has united with National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc. to decry an American judiciary that is essentially final arbiter of whether it has been corrupted and exclusive regulator of any attorney or judge who would object. On September 23, 2005, the two organizations host their "First Annual Fall Summit" at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D. C., marking the first formal alliance between legal reform activists and government whistleblowers on a national scale. (PRWeb Sep 15, 2005)
