Increased Efficiency, Communication and Satisfaction Drive Asset Tracking Decisions at PinnacleHealth; 4,500 Devices Now Part of Radianse Reveal

George Morley, biomedical director at PinnacleHealth, the leading hospital and healthcare system in Central Pennsylvania, will speak at the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) 2008 on May 31. His presentation -- If it moves - tag it: A comparative study of RFID and Wi-Fi -- will review the rationale and benefits of choosing a 433MHz-based system rather than Wi-Fi. PinnacleHealth uses Radianse real-time tracking for patients across perioperative services and for assets enterprise-wide at Harrisburg Hospital. To date 4,500 devices have been tagged. The plan is to tag thousands more to reduce losses and keep clinicians' time focused on care rather than on hunting and gathering equipment and supplies. (PRWeb May 22, 2008)

Radianse Announces Plug-and-Play Wi-Fi Receivers -- Enables Simpler Installation of RTLS without Sacrificing Location Accuracy

Radianse, a pioneer in real-time location for hospital asset tracking, patient flow and clinical effectiveness applications, announces its receivers will plug-and-play on hospital's existing Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) networks. This will simplify and speed installation, without sacrificing location accuracy -- guaranteed based on the company's continued use of its patented location software, active-RFID and the 433 MHz UHF band to calculate location.
