Demonstrators Evacuated By Police After Mob of Thousands of Hostile Dalai Lama Supporters Surrounds Them

Approximately 500 Tibetan and Western Buddhists engaged in a peaceful demonstration today outside of Radio City Music Hall as the Dalai Lama gave his public talks. This group, the Western Shugden Society (WSS), say they are demonstrating to question the Dalai Lama's unexamined actions and wishing to be heard since the Dalai Lama has repeatedly refused requests for dialog. The demonstrators spent 6 hours chanting "Dalai Lama Give Religious Freedom" and "Dalai Lama Stop Lying" in Tibetan and English to draw attention to their cause.
Tibetans Buddhists Courageously Speak Out Against Dalai Lama's Claiming Religious Discrimination, this Saturday in Madison WI

This Saturday, 600 Buddhists with one voice will protest against the Dalai Lama claiming a campaign of religious intolerance and immoral discrimination against the Buddhist community who practice the protective deity Dorje Shugden. This Western Shugden Society organized demonstration hopes to expose the abuse of the Dalai Lama's dual political and religious status, by which all Tibetan-exiles must take a public oath to abandon this spiritual practice as well as association with anyone who practices this 400 year old Buddhist Deity, in order to receive a state issued identity card. Without this identity card it is difficult and sometimes impossible to purchase food in many stores, receive medical treatment, and obtain travel documents. The protests is scheduled to take place Saturday, July 19th and promises to be colorful and lively event, with passionate Tibetan and English changt and bright placards spotting the crowd.

The Western Shugden Society (WSS) along with hundreds of Tibetan and Western monks, nuns and others will be protesting the Dalai Lama outside the Kimmel Center this Wednesday. The protestors who have traveled from over 18 different countries hope to shed light on a wealth of evidence and first hand testimony available showing the Dalai Lama's current and aggressive acts of religious persecution through ban on a 400-year old mainstream prayer to the Buddhist Deity Dorje Shugden, including a campaign of forced segregation and denial of basic human rights such as food and medical treatment. The protesters will be greeting the Dalai Lama and the 2000 others attending his public talk with colorful banners and loud persistent chants. (PRWeb Jul 14, 2008)
