Podcasting the Classroom

Premier Assistive Technology announces the release of the Premier Presentation Capture software. This software package allows instructors to easily record their presentations and transfer them into Video Podcasts. In many university lecture halls and classrooms, you'll find students recording a lecture or presentation. However, only the actual lecture can be recorded. Naturally, any notes displayed via an overhead projector or on an old fashioned chalkboard can't be recorded. However, for environments where digital tools are employed (SMART Board™, PowerPoint presentations, etc.), Premier Presentation Capture solves this problem by recording all elements of a digital presentation into compact media files, which can later be played on a computer or other multimedia players, including Premier VPod or an Apple iPod™.

"Google Books is a great concept for making books available to all individuals. However, when I downloaded a PDF file of the book from Google, I opened it up in Adobe 8 and tried to have it read aloud and Adobe returned a message saying 'page is blank.' This is the problem I have always had since I lost most of my sight," says Dr. Steve Timmer. Dr. Timmer is not alone. According to the National Institute for Literacy (www.nifl.gov), nearly 42 million Americans struggle with literacy, and most are not blind. Increasingly, many publications are now created in PDF file format. Virtually all major publishers can deliver their books, magazines, etc. in a PDF format when asked to provide content in an alternative format (vs. traditional hardcopy). (PRWeb Apr 24, 2007)

Several of the most common barriers are software deployment and upkeep. Getting the software installed across an entire organization can be difficult, let alone keep it up-to-date. While our Suite of applications are already easy to install, our new Network Edition further simplifies software deployment by running all the tools from a central location on your network.
Meeting the Changing Requirements of Student Accommodations

Premier Assistive is now making "student editions" of its software available to students. "Student editions" of software packages are not a new concept. Many companies are already doing this, but we are the first to do this with assistive technology. These "student editions" are the very same products we sell elsewhere, however, the price has been reduced so that they can be affordable to students. Now, for the price of some college textbooks, students can OWN their accommodations. (PRWeb Aug 28, 2005)

Those are common questions that all software users ask every day. To address that issue with our products, Premier Assistive Technology has just integrated technology known as “Live Update” into its Accessibility Suite version 4.0.
