Dance Festival of India Art Exhibition

This September 19th - 21st there is a magnificent "happening" at the New York Academy of Art, 111 Franklin Street (http://www.nyaa.edu), a one-of-a-kind art show of mixed media artworks by New York-based contemporary artist Pratima Naithani (http://www.pratimanaithani.com). This unique series was created to display a contemporary view of India's rich, ancient heritage. The unusual blend of past and present creates a rarely seen representation to western audiences, but also brings a certain nostalgia to her audiences in the East. This conversation makes her one of the more emotionally charged artists. (PRWeb Sep 15, 2008)
