RELIEF RECORDS NYC, a small up and coming New York based independent record label/ recording studio, is proud to announce the release of its first full production.NARHED; OUT ON A ROCK was conceived and recorded in Brooklyn by singer/ songwriter Dehran Duckworth with the help of the mighty bass player/ engineer Francky "Mweley" Moulet ( Tony Allen, Mano Dibango, Jimmy Cliff, Papa Wemba). All of the material is completely original and spins a genre-spanning tale of beats and rhymes, poems and fat horn lines. The 9 piece band to do the album justice is packed with talent from greats like Jojo Kuo, One of Fela Kuti’s original trap drummers, (also Mano Dibango, Antibalas), to rocker Izzy Zaidman on guitar (Unclefuckers, Bam Bam, Seventh Sense) and of course Francky Moulet on bass. Then with a class horn section that has toured with everyone from Lauren Hill to the Harlem Gospel Singers (Kenyatta Beasley and Deji Koker) and Keys and backup vocals by Ado Fukuhara (Monique Seka, Delmar Brown), JOE’S PUB on Lafayette st. in Manhattan is going to be the place to be for this debut performance on Monday the 29th of March! This event is endorsed by ANIMAL NEW YORK magazine which has a long history of packing the house for visual art and music in venues such as SHOW, LOTUS, the EICKHOLT GALLERY on Howard St., The CORAL ROOM, SOMA gallery, The RED BULL gallery on Franklin St., and other diverse locations around the city.
