Opening Thanksgiving Day, the German American Marketing, Inc. group, in cooperation with the City of Philadelphia, is operating a month-long Christmas outdoor shopping event. The open-air Christmas Village in Philadelphia pledges to be a light-filled extravaganza, with choir and orchestral performances, a sea of evergreen trees, and more than 50 booths marketing their wares. At the center of the experience will sit the red-suited, jovial Santa Claus himself. Party of God is The Chimera's third album in three years, following Soil Beside the River and A Month of Ash. Since 2005, the band has played around Philadelphia in such venues as Johnny Brenda's, The North Star, The Khyber and The M Room. They have also performed at shows in New York City, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Baltimore. The band members, Dan Ferry, Adam Cooper, Il Shim Pearlman and Matthew Turnbull, live and play music together in a house in West Philadelphia. They converted the basement into a soundproofed recording studio for recording and rehearsing. The Party of God album will be the first release on their new record label, SlingShotStone Records.
